These video shooter games have become the most powerful play tools for the current lot of children, not to mention some adults. The most popular among them are shooting games and sniper games, much to the consternation of their parents. But the major worry is whether these games, though addictive, can lead to more aggressive and violent kids, who may have their psyche damaged in their adult lives.
The parents though seem to have forgotten that in their childhood the favorite game was Cowboys and Indians, where they used to run around brandishing guns and shooting games. They seem to have turned out okay despite this and other violent games.
But, perhaps the point we are missing is their not getting the physical exercise that all kids need and the amount of time wasted sitting playing these games. This is a valid point since we were allowed only a certain play time and did get our exercise. But, with the video games taking on other avatars in the form of hand held and even remotes, and now they can be downloaded and played right on your cell phone it has become near impossible to control their use.
This has become a major dilemma.
